Overview
As our founding Creative Director, you will be responsible for bringing the creative vision of the Fair to life. In the first 18-months of this role you will:
- Build and lead a team that will:
- Write the stories and narrative underlying the Fair's design
- Translate that narrative into VR, real-life immersive experiences, and media
- Oversee the development of two major outputs:
- A VR model of the Fairgrounds
- A real-life immersive experience piloting the Fair's first Immersive World
- Work closely with the founding team to inform narrative design and launch various projects to advance our mission and creative vision.
About You
We assume you have the basics covered. You've built teams from scratch, you've pitched concepts to executives, you have strong written and verbal communication, you have impeccable project management skills, and you're adaptable to the dynamic needs of a fast-moving organization. Most importantly, you're great with people and contribute to an organizational culture of collaboration, transparency, optimism, experimentation, and delivery of our mission.
We specifically want to see three things:
Experience
- You have a demonstrated track record of successfully designing and executing large creative projects. This includes (but is not limited to) the development of themed entertainment experiences, resorts, museums, video games, or films.
- You've worked as both an individual contributor and a manager, meaning you can do the work yourself and lead a team.
- You've collaborated with and hired a wide range of roles from screenwriters, concept artists, model builders, architects, engineers, and designers to get your projects done.
Resourcefulness
- You do the "impossible" by finding creative or experimental approaches to deliver outputs.
- Whatever your background is, you're able to pick up new skills, leverage existing resources, or gain access to new resources to get the job done.
- You have a robust network from which to build your team and the capacity to upskill necessary hires to meet the demands of the organization.
- Your creativity, resourcefulness, and adaptability allow you to thrive on projects with tight budgets, physical constraints, and aggressive timelines.
