We're building The World's Fair Company — an institution (like the Olympics) to ensure that optimism never dies through immersive experiences (physical and virtual), media, and mega-events.
We wrote an essay about our flagship event here which reached #1 on HackerNews, received a grant from Tyler Cowen & Emergent Ventures, are working with former Disney Imagineers to develop the concept, and planning our early rollout of immersive futuristic experiences.
Back in the 1960s, we had a culture that valued progress and saw technology as a force for good. After we landed on the moon, we stopped dreaming. In order for us to build the future, we must reignite our pioneering spirit; we can do so by promoting positive visions of the future and inspiring people to dream again.
To do this, we're reviving and reimagining the World's Fair. At the new World's Fair, we'll stir wonder and excitement in millions of guests by providing them with immersive experiences and entertainment focused on the future.
Through this, we'll elevate the ambition of our nation, provide kids with new role models, and overcome the political and social barriers that inhibit progress.
The World's Fair is a type of mega-event (like the Olympics or World's Cup) and entertainment destination (like Disney World) where the future becomes a place. Current mega-events, like the Dubai World Expo, serve as inspiration but fundamentally lack the vision for the future that previous World's Fairs were focused on.
Since the last World's Fair was run in the US in 1984, you may be more familiar with the Stark Expo which was categorically a World's Fair.

The World's Fair inspired the Stark Expo from Captain America & Iron Man 2.
While we're building this new World's Fair from scratch, we're drawing inspiration from past events hosted in the US.
